1940s Cabaret

Wednesday July 11 – Sunday July 15

Tuesday July 17 – Saturday July 21, 2018

All performances begin at 7PM

The Emlen Physick Estate, Washington Street, Cape May

REV Theatre Company returns to the Physick Estate for the fourth year with an exciting musical production in partnership with the Mid Atlantic Center for the Arts & Humanities.

REV’s 1940s Cabaret is a great big piece of all-American apple pie!  It’s a happy, heady hit parade of musical nostalgia aimed straight for your heart.  Based on the 1940’s sensational song stylings and best-selling recordings of Bing Crosby and the Andrews Sisters, and the Cabaret features such enduring, endearing classics as Bei Mir Bist Du Schon, Don’t Sit Under the Apple Tree, Mairzy Doats and Rum and Coca Cola, among many, many equally marvelous more.

4 performers will recreate and recharge the marvelous harmonies, rhythms and dynamic songs and choreography of the original performers. REV’s cabaret will share the exuberance and ebullience with audiences who are familiar with these songs/performers, and will introduce this unique and irresistible musical experience to new audiences of all ages.

Come join us and let REV Theatre Company renew your romance with these terrific, toe-tapping, time-tripping tunes…or fall in love with them for the very first time!

The Stamford Advocate writes “the company compels, mesmerizes and delights”…”an unforgettable ride”.

Philadelphia Weekly says: “exhilarating and imaginative”…

And The Philadelphia Inquirer: “Superb”

And The Village Voice: “Delicious”.

The production is directed by Rosey Hay, Co-Artistic Director of REV Theatre Company and is musically directed by Charis Duke.  Cast members are Rudy Caporaso, Hannah Wolff, Susanna Herrick and Mary Howe.

New York professional actor AEA member Rudy Caporaso (Co-Artistic Director of REV Theatre Company) played the roles of twin Dromios in The Comedy of Errors, Puck in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and most recently the tile role in last year’s Hamlet.
